Summary

Assists Project Manager in coordinating, planning and organizing project operations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The following are the duties associated with being a Cochran Project Engineer.  Other duties may be assigned.

1.Obtain required information to proper materials selection, dimensional information and third party or owner supplied information.

2.Tracks jobsite documentation, including RFI’s, ASI’s, changes, etc.

3.Coordinate efforts with other trades and accompanying documentation.

4.Prepare submittals, schedules & O & M’s.

5.Perform ordering, releasing, receiving and tracking of material and tool orders.

6.Posting of drawing with changed information.

7.Review new or changed information to correctly capture added costs.

8.Estimate, prepare and track change orders.

9.Development, implementation and tracking of QA procedures, logs and issues.

10.Schedules subcontracts and tracks performance.

11.Tracks vendors performance

12.Attend project meetings as assigned.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma required.  Two-year college or university program certificate is a plus or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to write, speak and communicate in English fluently.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Spreadsheet software and Project Management software.
